A Self-Destruct Button For The Whole Universe Is Found by Scientists

It appears that the universe as we know it undergoes a process of self-destruction that the most of us are oblivious of. The physical laws that govern the known universe contain the delete button. In reality, it is a quantum field called the Higgs Field.

So, how does the Higgs Field start this cosmic chain of destruction? It all boils down to pretending, or at least pretending that the vacuum exists.

Let’s first take a step back, though. Two fundamental ideas govern everything in the universe: energy and stability. The short version is that everything in the universe is made of energy and gravitates toward its most stable or ground state. Something is more stable the less potential energy it possesses, and vice versa.

This is true even at the quantum level, where quantum fields—basically, the rules that particles in the universe must abide by—apply. The vacuum state, which is the most stable and least energetic condition for quantum fields, is where they like to stay (not to be confused with a vacuum in space).

The Higgs Field, which is in charge of particle mass, is the exception; in principle, all quantum fields are already in their vacuum state. The possibility exists that the Higgs Field is an artificial vacuum. The Higgs Field possesses a huge quantity of potential energy when it is in a faux vacuum condition. The slightest, most random spark might release this energy (like quantum tunneling).
