Does time exist ?

In Einstein theory of relativity space and time are linked together. But the question of the time is still relevant. Particularly there are theories where the time while being binding to the appearance of the Universe is considered either holographic or arises at the moment of the Big Bang. At the same time, some variants of theory of Multiverse propose, that the time can exist beyond the space (i.e. beyond the space of our Universe). It is also known that even in the “empty” space there is zero energy level, which is actually has a nonzero value. So the question is: does the time exist without the space and does the existence of such time require the energy?

The earliest time measurements were observations of cycles of the natural world, using patterns of changes from day to night and season to season to build calendars. More precise time-keeping eventually came along to put time in more convenient boxes. But what exactly are we measuring? Andrew Zimmerman Jones contemplates whether time is something that physically exists or is just in our heads.
